Experience the vibrant history of the Windrush generation at the Alexandra Palace in London during our Windrush 75 ‘The Grip’ Exhibition and Lunch event! Immerse yourself in an afternoon filled with cultural richness and captivating stories.

This community-led exhibition, centered around ‘the grip’ – a symbolic traveler’s suitcase, commemorates Windrush 75 and Black History Month. Curated by Bevali Mckenzie, It showcases an array of photographs by Paul Mckenzie, written works, and a compelling short film contributed by local members of the Windrush Generation and their associates.

Hosted at the historic Alexandra Palace, the exhibition, also on display at Bruce Castle Museum, offers a captivating journey through time, featuring narratives of resilience and triumph. The event will feature live performances by EyeAm SAKRED SOUL, an emerging UK poet and Neo Soul singer, the mesmerizing ancestral drumming of MASOL, and DJ 2TRAXX, who will be spinning tunes from the Windrush era. Additionally, there will be heartfelt Spoken Word performances by our residents.

Lunch will be served promptly at 3.15pm. Please note that the room capacity is limited to 30 people.
