Exploring the Impact of Community Violence Exposure on Black youth

Join Therapy for Black Kids for a Fireside Chat with Dr. Noni Gaylord-Harden on community violence and Black youth.

 

During this free event, Dr. Earl Turner (Founder and Executive Director of Therapy for Black Kids) will chat with psychologist Dr. Gaylord-Harden about her work with Black youth and families to address the impact of community violence.

Dr. Gaylord-Harden is a professor of psychology at Texas A&M University. Her research has examined the role of modifiable protective factors, such as coping strategies and parent-child relationships, among youth in high-risk contexts. Dr. Gaylord-Harden’s recent work focuses on exposure to community violence as a stressor for youth in urban communities.
