A Year of Black History: Black Veterans

Black Vets have always played an important part of our history, from the American Revolution to the present.

 

African American soldiers have played a central role in United States history. Black veterans in particular have served on the frontlines of the struggle for freedom, civil rights and racial justice. In this talk, Brandeis University professor Dr. Chad Williams will explore the symbolic meanings of Black military service and how, from the American Revolution to the present, Black veterans have shaped African American history.
