On Thursday 28th of October, BAPA will welcome Revered Edwin Louw, an esteemed guest from South Africa who will be presenting an international perspective for Black History Month on the theme ‘Transformation Thought Truth and Reconciliation’.

Whilst chairing South Africa’s Truth and Reconciliation Commission (1995) and on the subject of ‘truth’ Archbishop Desmond Tutu commented that “Western thinking collects splendid answers, but these answers are questions that no one else is asking”. Drawing from his own journey and lived experiences and analysis of political influencers, Rev Louw will discuss issues of ‘transformation through truth’, which can be seen to have influenced the shape of current South African picture.

Rev Louw is a graduate of the University of Western Cape and Stellenbosch University. He is a Dr of Philosophy, Theology and Ethics and has also been awarded a Master’s Degree in HIV&AIDS Human Resource Management. In 1997 he was ordained into the Presbyterian Church in South Africa.

As self-described ‘results driven’ Social Entrepreneur community leader Minister, Rev Louw has described a key objective as providing primary leadership, teaching, and direction of the church – in all areas of ministry, to the communities he works with, and to engage his entrepreneurial spirit to encourage those both in and outside the church.
