Let’s Celebrate Black History Month- Nottingham

Saturday 29th October

Canal & River Trust and Binks Yard are inviting people of Nottingham down to the canal to enjoy activities and black performers.

 

Nottingham is a melting pot of culture and vibrancy, and we want to showcase the talent there is within the city at Binks Yard entertainment Plaza. Come along and listen to local Nottingham talent with DJ sets, spoken word artists and belly dancing. There will be live bands, gospel singing, and a community group choir performing their own chorus.

Over the course of the weekend people will have the opportunity to see the city from a completely different perspective in the Trust’s Canadian canoes, or from a trip onboard Megan & Tinks’ narrowboats. An adult must accompany children and young people and the minimum age for the canoeing is 8 years. Please book 1 ticket per person

Canoe meeting point – Binks Yard Plaza NG2 3BJ. Wear suitable clothing, layers, waterproof jacket and footwear you do not mind getting wet. Buoyancy Aids will be provided.

Narrowboat Trip meeting point-in front of Nottingham Magistrate Court NG2 1EE by the hump bridge. Wear suitable clothing for the changeable weather a Woolley hat would be a bonus.

Please arrive 20 minutes before the activity commences to check you in and go through safety procedure.

COVID-19 compliance 2022

1, if you or a person in your support bubble have any symptoms of COVID-19 please do not attend the event

2, All equipment will be sanitised before each session

3, Hand sanitizer must be used prior to the event.

4, Where possible a 1 metre distance should be observed

We make the events as safe and fun as possible under the current circumstances

Walk ins will not be accepted. If you can no longer attend, please cancel your ticket via Eventbrite or please get in touch with us to allow another person(s) a chance to take part. Social distancing measures will be in place and all equipment will be cleaned in between sessions.
