Police Race Action Plan – Leeds Community Discussion

Monday 25 November

Share your views, ask the police your questions and discuss how to improve policing for Black people.

West Yorkshire Police are holding community events to facilitate discussions about the Police Race Action Plan.

The Police Race Action Plan aims to create a police service which is anti-racist and trusted by Black people. The plan was launched in November 2023.

Attendees at the event will be able to share their views and ask questions to their local policing team, as well as hear updates about the plan from the past year. The event is open to all who would like to attend.

There will be a buffet provided (free of charge) at 5pm, as well as refreshments. This time can be used to network before the group discussions start at 6pm. The event will be opened by Chief Superintendent Steve Dodds & Chief Inspector Pete Hall.

Discussions will be primarily focused on the following themes:

1. Stop & search

2. Gang affiliation/youth violence

3. Community engagement/cohesion

4. Community development

5. Families/services/mental health

And others.
