King Midas Sound

Lean into the sound of loss with a live performance of King Midas Sound’s fourth album. Reverting to the original duo of Roger Robinson and Kevin Martin, King Midas Sound bring their new record Solitude to Purcell Room.

The album marks their first collaboration with record label Cosmo Rhythmatic – a suitably eclectic home, inhabited by masterful sonic sculptors and shrewdly assembled by Berlin-based artist Shapednoise.

A spoken-word tale written by English-Trinidadian poet and playwright Robinson, Solitude is a meditation on loss. It’s about processing the irrational and incessant feelings of rejection and loneliness, like listening as the tenderness of love disappears and is replaced by skewed logic.
