Alexis Ffrench Plus Special Guests

30 Nov 2019 Approximate run time: 150 mins

Leading the way for a new generation of classical artists, the exceptional pianist and composer defies our preconceptions.

Alexis Ffrench has high ambitions. Trained at the Purcell School, the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and the Royal Academy, Ffrench wants to change the way people perceive classical music and make it more inclusive, democratic and relevant to the society in which we live.

In his own words: ‘In the near future, I would love to look out at Last Night of the Proms and see a welcome mixture of white, brown and black faces, with people of all backgrounds.

‘That would prove to me that classical music is alive and adaptable, and I see myself as an artist who can help to lead the change.’

Support comes from The Ayoub Sisters.

Ffrench began playing at the age of four – on the dining room table, because his family didn’t have a piano.

His latest album, Evolution, reached number one in the UK Classical Artist Album Chart.

With over 1.5 million active listeners a month, Ffrench’s music speaks to a wide and diverse audience and transcends all boundaries.
