#Afterhours Launch – Free Event

Wednesday 12th Apr 2017 at 8pm

Join us for the launch of Inua Ellams’ new book, #Afterhours, in the place where many of its poems were written.

Over 12 months, Inua dived into The Poetry Library’s collection, looking for and inviting library audiences to suggest poems that would inspire rewriting his childhood.

This newly created work has become a meticulous, magnetic narrative, translating and transposing Inua’s Nigerian background through the lens and language of British poetry.

Come along for a glass of wine and to hear short readings from the poet himself plus special guests. Be amongst the first to see the book, just published by Nine Arches Press. All with DJ Sid Mercutio on the decks.
