December to Remember is our theme as we explore the history behind the Xhosa War 1779 – 1879.

 

Yes…100 years. This war was followed by the Boer Wars and the continued occupation of Southern African by Europeans. We will explore how the Berlin Conference 1884/85 impacted the borders that would be agreed upon at this monumental meeting.

Wars we will explore: (Over 139 years)

Xhosa War – 1779 – 1879

1st Boer War 1880 – 1881

2nd Boer War – 1899 – 1902

World War I 1914 – 1918

This screening will take place on Monday 16 December 2024 from 18:30 to 20:30 GMT at The Black Cultural Centre Islington, 16–18 Hornsey Road, London, N7 7BT. Nearest tube station is Holloway Road (Piccadilly Line). Free on-street parking.
