Chiiild

Wednesday 9 February 2022

From Montreal, Canada, Chiiild has spent years honing a unique blend of pop, R&B, soul and jazz behind closed doors. Steeped in nostalgia and R&B and Psychedelia, Chiiild uses music to tell stories about diversity, ask questions about humanity, and unify people over shared personal experiences.

“Musically, it’s about chasing a certain feeling that you had when growing up”, he says. Taking influence from music as diverse as D’Angelo, Tame Impala, Pink Floyd and Marvin Gaye, he has created an expansive timeless sound that is uniquely genre-bending yet still somehow reminiscent of something you’ve heard, or felt, before.

Laced with the music set to define and introduce his sound to the world, Chiiild released his debut project, “Synthetic Soul” in early 2020 and then his debut album “Hope For Sale” in 2021 which aims to cover the whole human experience while diving into moments of love and life. Alongside his release, Chiiild announced his first headline run – The Apocalyptic Optimistic Tour – featuring festival dates including Lollapalooza, Life Is Beautiful, and Governor’s Ball as well as a sold out LA date. The album has garnered over 1 Million Global Streams and praise from Nylon, UPROXX, PopDust, Complex, Okay Playr, KCRW, Hot New Hip Hop and many more.

He made his U.S TV debut on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, performing two of his most acclaimed singles to date in “Pirouette” and “Sleepwalking”. The best ain’t happen yet.
