Madge Dresser: Black British History, Bristol and Black Identity

Tuesday 23-10-2018

This interactive workshop will use images and events from Bristol, London, Caribbean and American sources to reconfigure how British history might be ‘decolonised’ to include the black experience. The workshop will explore the relationship between visual images, personal family histories and academic interpretations of history, using research to broaden participants’ understanding of Black British history and Black British identity.

In partnership with the Centre for Black Humanities.

This is an inclusive event and anyone who wants to celebrate Black History Month is welcome to attend.
