Chineke! Chamber Ensemble

Friday 8 October 2021

There can be few more beguiling and irrepressibly joyful pieces in classical music than Schubert’s Trout Quintet.

It flows along in the wake of an outpouring of late romantic passion in Vaughan Williams’ own Piano Quintet, and some entrancing arrangements for string quartet of popular folk songs by the pioneering African-American composer Florence Price.

A characteristically wide ranging and tantalising concert to herald the return of players from St George’s favourites, Chineke! Orchestra.
