Join us at this Harlesden Library Coffee Morning to celebrate 75 years of Windrush and the start of the NHS.
2023 marks the 75th anniversaries of both the arrival of the Empire Windrush to London from the Caribbean, and the start of the NHS. The interlinked histories and legacy of both the NHS and the Empire Windrush remain highly relevant to us today in our everyday lives.
This talk will highlight some of the impacts of that shared history, particularly through the lens of the Windrush Generations and their descendants. The journey of people involved in the local NHS will illustrate the path that many trod in the early years. The stories of the descendants of the Windrush generations, can bring us up to 21st century to celebrate the shared 75th anniversary.
Dr St John is a local Doctor who has worked in the NHS for many decades and is a descendant of the Windrush Generations would like to request your company to hear her talk and join her in celebrating this milestone.
