Insights Day: Let Freedom Ring

Sunday 19th November

Go searching for the American sound and the role of music in America over a day of talks and performance with the Philharmonia and a cast of experts.

What exactly is the American sound? How have American jazz, folk and classical music influenced each other, and music around the world, in the 20th and 21st centuries?

What role has music played in building American identity, and driving social change? What directions might American music take in the future?

These questions are tackled by members of the Philharmonia Orchestra, and experts including Dr Emily MacGregor as part of the orchestra’s Let Freedom Ring series.

There’s also music from the Philharmonia’s MMSF Fellows, musicians at the beginning of their professional careers.
