Emancipation Day Celebration

Iconic photographer and radio station founder Neil Kenlock, will be hosting the 3rd Annual African and Caribbean UK Emancipation Day Celebration. This event will be held at 229 The VENUE, 229 Great Portland St, London, W1W 5PN on July 29th 2016, on the eve of the official Emancipation Day.
This year will be entertaining and inspirational, highlighting the significance of Emancipation Day and raising money for Black History Walks. We will also have reparations specialist Esther Stanford- Xosei, the Co-Vice Chair of the Afrikan Emancipation Day Reparations March Committee (AEDRMC) as our guest.
The entertainment will be provided by US soul superstar Gwen Dickey (Rose Royce), with appearances from UK legends Peter Hunnigale and Janet Kay. DJ’s on the night include Commander B from (Vibes FM), DJ 279 and many more, selecting all the classic tunes!
This is an opportunity to celebrate our culture, network with like-minded people and enjoy the good vibes. There will be a multitude of notable guests in attendance so please feel free to invite friends and spread the word. And all cutural wear is welcome! See photos from last year – here.
