An Encounter: Invoking the Spiritual and the Secular

Saturday 20th August

The secular and the spiritual meet in music and performance, as SXWKS explores traditions of storytelling, folklore and performance in Black and diasporic communities.

SXWKS, named in tribute to the six-week school summer holiday, is a London-based creative collective using the power of a group to share artistic projects with their community.

More than a collective, they are connected by their refusal to relegate their artistic engagement to just a spare-time activity, maintaining it as a core part of their everyday existence.
