Creating Visibility to the Rising Victimization of Black Women and Girls

Wednesday 23 February 2022

The Cleveland Public Library and The Cleveland Rape Crisis Center invite you to join them for a virtual conversation to talk about the victimization of Black females.

Sexual violence has historically been used as a tool to control individuals and groups of people in the United States. When addressing the sexual violence faced by Black women and girls, we must examine the historical trauma associated with the continued victimization experienced by Black women.

Approximately 40% of Black women report some form of sexual violence before turning 18. Cleveland Rape Crisis Center will host a community forum to increase the community’s knowledge regarding the victimization of Black women and girls.

As a community, we must establish a more equitable response to decrease victimization.
