Black, Asian and Ethnic Minority Careers Matter

Monday 10 January 2022

In July 2020, The Simple Press reported within the article, ‘Britain’s BAME Employment problem’ that Black, Asian and Ethnic Minority graduates were still facing horrendous levels of discrimination at both the application and employment stages.

The report also highlighted research undertaken by the Centre for Social Investigation at Nuffield College (University of Oxford); that on average BAME applicants sent 70-90% more applications than their white counterparts.

To help us understand and tackle these anomalies we have invited our former University of Wolverhampton graduate Matthew Gordon; who has spent an enormous amount of his time challenging this unfair and unjust situation. He will no doubt assure our learners that there are people working tirelessly to level the playing field.

Matthew’s impressive profile include strong links with business and government departments such as the Ministry of Justice; Department of Work and Pensions; Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport; as well as Amazon, Metro Bank, ITV and The Guardian. He uses his influence to take a stand against social injustices.
