Pgmol Presents Breaking Barriers

The PGMOL have announced a second series of webinars with the aim of diversifying the pool of professional referees and matchday officials. Currently, there is a stark under-representation of Black, Asian, Women, LGBT+ people as well as those with disabilities.

 

The Breaking Barriers webinar is a special and important opportunity to hear from leading referees and industry experts on their journeys and advice on getting into the profession, as part of the PGMOL’s wider work around equality, diversity and inclusion.

The series continues on Thursday 21st October at 1700 with a Black History Month session, featuring:

  • Aji Ajibola – Vice Chairman, BAME Referee Support Group, FA Council Member – National Game Communities Representative
  • Joel Mannix– Chair of BAME Referee Support Group
  • Phil Prosser – Former Football League Referee
  • Joe Ross – Former Football League Referee

The session will be hosted by Sports Broadcaster, Anne-Marie Batson.

The sessions are for people of all backgrounds but will target those from under-represented groups.
