Women’s Programme: Great LGBT Women in Black History

Friday 22 October 2021

Discover the story of the hidden contribution of LGBT women to World History in this talk by Black History Studies

This informative and inspirational presentation by Black History Studies shares the story of the hidden contribution of LGBT women to World History. The invisibility of women in the early books is linked to the fact that some historians felt that women’s issues did not merit inclusion and their contributions were ignored. It is important to recognise that the study of Black Women’s History makes for a much more inclusive, richer, fuller and more importantly, truthful account of World History. This presentation will uncover the contributions and achievements of great women from past and present.

This event will take place on Zoom.

Our spaces are for all self-identifying lesbian, bi, queer or questioning women and non-binary people wishing to access a women-centred space. This is inclusive of trans women, non-binary and gender fluid people, women of colour, older women and disabled women.
