Join us at Hollybrook for a guided tour as part of Black History Month to explore the diverse stories of those commemorated at this site.
As part of our community activities for Black History Month we, the Commonwealth War Graves Commission (CWGC), are working in partnership with Black Poppy Rose and the British Army to deliver a special event of guided tours at Hollybrook Cemetery. This will highlight those from diverse ethnic communities who fought and died in the World Wars and are commemorated in the war graves and on the memorial at Hollybrook. As well as sharing stories of those who came from across the globe, we will also be highlighting the various opportunities which we have for on-going community engagement and volunteering with the CWGC.
Please Note:
Tours will begin at Hollybrook Memorial which can be found to right hand side of the main entrance when you arrive. Parking is available within the cemetery. Although the tour will stick to paths, the ground is quite uneven in places. Please come dressed appropriately for the weather and wear suitable shoes. There are no toilet facilities on site.
This event will run in line with local & national government guidelines at the time of the festival. Please do not attend if you feel unwell or have any of the symptoms associated with Covid-19.
