A talk by a professional nurse and carer who specialised in SCD and now works with plants as well!
Putting you at ease and learning more about this very common disease
Earline Hilda Castillo-Binger aka ‘Hilda’ is a retired NHS Nurse from Trinidad & Tobago in West Indies, is now caring for plants!
Hilda is passionate about Sickle Cell Disease and as part of Black History Month she is going to be talking about alleviating the common worries and supposed restrictions.
She has a working knowledge of this genetically inherited condition as a former Specialist Nurse Counsellor/ Team Leader with South East London Sickle Cell and Thalassaemia Centre.
Hilda is also a volunteer carer with the Sickle Cell Society and has been helping with the medicine management for their annual children’s holiday.
She recently held a virtual children’s gardening workshop and they have had a lot of fun with them and their carers.
She currently works with Lambeth Group Practice Food Coop as a Team Leader managing 3 gardening projects in Lambeth with time as well for the odd private gardening consultation and a buddying gardening scheme.
