Video-led presentation by history consultant Kwaku opens event highlighting and celebrating women activists and African women organisations

UK African Women Self-Organising

African women have been at the forefront of many organisations to push forth either women’s, parents’ or community issues. In marking the 57th anniversary of the passing of Claudia Jones, arguably the greatest British African activist, history consultant Kwaku’s mash up video will highlight a number of women and African women’s organisations over the decades.

The idea is that attendees will also put forward women and organisations, particularly those based outside London, deserving of recognition and celebration, as will some the special guests in attendance in the meeting.

If you know of any women or organisations that need to be highlighted, particularly those that were or are based outside London, please please email Awula Serwah via btwsc@gmail.com.
