Black Women’s Forum UK: Book Club – ‘Girl, Woman, Other’

Tuesday 5 October 2021

Black Women’s Forum UK presents our online book club for black women, including trans women, and those who are non-binary or gender non-conforming, where we consider books by black women. The book club will take place every other month, and will alternate between Black British authors and Black authors from around the world.

For our next meeting, we will be discussing ‘Girl, Woman, Other’ by Bernardine Evaristo. The meeting will be on Monday 4th October 2021, starting at 8pm and ending at 9.30pm.

Brief blurb of the book:

Teeming with life and crackling with energy — a love song to modern Britain and black womanhood

Girl, Woman, Other follows the lives and struggles of twelve very different characters. Mostly women, black and British, they tell the stories of their families, friends and lovers, across the country and through the years.
