Soundpit

23 Nov 2019 - 23 Feb 2020

Have you ever wondered what sound feels like? Or what music looks like?

Play in giant sandpits illuminated by beautiful graphics, creating music with your own movements.

Created by artist Di Mainstone, Soundpit is creative play for all ages.

Run your hands through the sand, sit in it or even walk across it. You are the composer of your own masterpiece.

There are seven Soundpit sessions each day that Soundpit is open, each session lasting 45 minutes. Sessions run hourly from 10.15am until 4.15pm.

Through play, children and adults can explore their individual sense of sound, vision and touch. For those interested in art and music, and those who simply enjoy sensory play, this is a fun,

interactive experience.

Age recommendation
Suitable for all ages.

Event information
There are sessions at 10.15am, 11.15am, 12.15pm, 1.15pm, 2.15pm, 3.15pm and 4.15pm.

Ticketing
Every person needs a ticket. Each ticket admits one person (adult or child). All children must be accompanied by an adult. Babes in arms (under 18 months old) go free with a paying adult.

Southbank Centre takes a strong view on secondary ticketing. We require the lead booker to attend (photo ID may be requested). Tickets can only be resold by Southbank Centre or one of its authorised agents.

Access information
Soundpit contains digital projections which are a source of flickering light. Due to the use of projectors, the interior of this installation is dimly lit. Please talk to a member of staff if you have any questions.
