TVA in partnership with Teesside University, in celebration of Black History Month, present an exceptional opportunity to see and hear the legendary Benjamin Zephaniah – writer, lyricist, musician and trouble-maker – who is accurately described as Britain’s most filmed, photographed and identifiable poet.
The only living poet in the vote for the ‘nation’s top 10favourite poets’, Benjamin’s first book of poetry for children – Talking Turkeys – went into emergency reprint in just six weeks.
Benjamin combines poetry, music and political activism, and is surely Britain’s only Professor of Poetry and Writing (Brunel University) to have fan clubs around the world, and to have once been number one in the Yugoslavian hit parade!
This intimate event will allow you to hear from Benjamin first hand about his career, his poetry and his dyslexia and to ask him questions. Time: 4-5pm
Please note: numbers are restricted for this event and will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. Booking is essential.
