Celebrating the legacy of the Caribbean Windrush generation at Brent Hub!
On 21 June 1948, HMT Empire Windrush arrived in the UK with passengers from the West Indies. The Windrush Generation played a prominent role in rebuilding England post war and their hard work continues to enrich social, economic, political and religious life.
At the Windrush Celebratory Evening we will display the themed artwork of local school children and screen informative videos which highlight the invaluable contribution of the Windrush generation to British society. The sounds of a renowned Live Steel Band will serenade guests throughout the evening and we will provide food and beverages. Local Councillors and a surprise guest will also be attending to show their support.
