Windrush day celebrates the arrival of Caribbean migrants onto UK shores over 70 years ago. It celebrates the diverse nature of British history and ensures that their legacy is retained for future generations.
The evening will feature readings and speeches from community leaders, dance, poetry, performances from the award-winning John Fisher and IDMC Gospel Soul Choir, followed by a Drinks Reception after the service.
On behalf of John Fisher (AlI Islands Together), Cllr Tony Newman (Croydon Council) and Father Andrew (Croydon Minster), I would personally like to invite you to this service, that will celebrate and show appreciation for the lives of those from the Caribbean who have made such an enormous contribution to the UK.
